RAMS, SECOND IN STATE

Down in Anaheim, CA, the Saint Mary's Rams played 5 gritty hockey matches against high-quality schools. The boys didn't start off hot, taking a 5-2 loss against Fairmont with a late empty-net goal. However, our Rams came back that evening craving a win against Santa Margarita, and they delivered. The game was tough, going all the way to overtime, but our Rams didn't take long to score thanks to a great tip from sophomore Luca Adornato. The next day, our Rams got another chance at both Fairmont and Santa Margarita, losing 5-0 to Fairmont but beating Santa Margarita 3-1 to clinch a spot in the state championship game. In the championship, our boys came out hot and took the first goal. However, momentum couldn't carry us all the way through the game, and Fairmont picked up the slack. In the end, our Rams fought hard but still lost 6-1 and came home with silver.
